There will be a court case in September to determine what will happen to the fourteen year old girl who was allegedly married to Fundamental Church of Jesus Christ (FLDS) leader Warren Jeffs. Jeffs is currently in prison for charges of rape as an accomplice.
The girl had originally been released to her parents after the raid on the Yearning for Zion (YFZ) ranch. However, she was taken back into state custody after her mother was accused of not being able to provide a stable and safe home for her daughter. It is believed that the girl married Jeffs' in an illegal ceremony when she was 12. Jeffs has also been accused of marrying other underage girls.
Dexter star marries his onscreen sister
Every time I type "serial killer" into the Google news search something about Dexter pops up. So fine, here's a story about Dexter. Micheal C Hall, who plays TV's lovable serial killer, Dexter Morgan, married his girlfriend and co-star, Jennifer Carpenter.
The pair got married on New Year's Eve in California shortly after the third season of Dexter wrapped. Hall is best known for his portrayal of Dexter, a murderer who targets sociopaths and those who he deems guilty of a crime that they will never be punished for. Carpenter plays his adoptive sister, Debra Morgan.
Oh the irony
Alec Ahsoak, 53, recently won a state lottery that benefited a charity for sexual assault victims. A few days later a local TV station that featured the winner received an e-mail that revealed Ahsoak was a sex offender. Ahsoak had been convicted of sexual abuse of a minor in 1993 and in 2000.
He claimed that he would donate $100,000 to the recipient charity, Standing Together Against Rape (STAR). He also said that he would use the money to buy himself a new house and donate some to God in addition to the charitable contribution.
5 down
Petra Hirsch was struggling with the answer to a crossword puzzle. But instead of peeking at the solution she decided to call the police for a clue. 5 down asked for the full name of a police border protection unit. After asking her friends and searching on the Internet Hirsch called an emergency number and asked the operator for a clue.
However, the operator had no interest in helping her. Hirsch was immediately told to clear the line or she would be charged with wasting police time. The crossword puzzler was disappointed that the police wouldn't help her and stated "All I wanted was a bit of help and it would only have taken them a second to tell me the answer-"
