Capote Award Nominations

I am pleased to announce that the nominations for the first annual In Cold Blog Capote Awards have been selected for the best in true crime for the year 2007.

We here at In Cold Blog feel that the nominees represent the brightest voices of true crime writers, television and filmmakers, musicians, and bloggers in the business.

Most year-end wrap-ups tell you who they think is the best. At In Cold Blog, I like to do things differently. I want you to tell us who you believe to be the best and most deserving of a Capote. That's right! You get to vote for your favorites in the world of true crime.

Here's how it works. Below the fold you will find eight separate categories. You can vote once a day in every category every day until the poll closes. Please make up to three votes in the Hall of Fame category.

Thanks for your participation and don't forget to come back and vote every day.

Corey, this voting thing has become compromised.

If you vote then you get 10,000 (maybe an exaggeration but not so much) pop ups and have to shut down.

Hi Melissa,

I am sorry you are receiving pop-ups. I have not received any yet and no one else has mentioned that they have had the same problem that you did. I will keep my eyes open and see if there are any more issues.

Keep trying and see what happens.

What, no Dreamin' Demon? Come ON.

It didnt happen again. Just the once. It scared the crap out of me because this isnt my computer. It belongs to my company. Which disables pop up blocker because we use pop ups for conferencing purposes.

to Melissa... Popups are gods way of saying get back to work and stop using the company puter for your own needs..lol. Tis true..

Jason, love your blogs dude.. well done.

Thanks Mistress, everyone in my company uses their computer for personal use. Thats why they give us laptops, so if we are home and they need us for something its yet another way to contact us :P

Plus my computer is broken, and I really have no need to get a new one since I have a work one I am required to bring home every night.

That said, who is Jason?

Hello, I have been trying to vote for A Christmas Family Tragedy. I think something is wrong with the voting. When I try to vote I get a message telling me I have already voted today. I voted one day and have not gotten to vote since.

Hello Sissy,

I am sorry you are having difficulty voting. The poll is set up so you can vote once a day. I believe it is once per 24 hours, but am not 100% positive. I did, however, place a vote in that category this morning and it went through fine. Keep trying. I'm sure it will eventually accept your vote. And thanks for letting me know.

I am shocked that "a christmas family tragedy" is getting so many votes. I wonder if the people who are voting have even seen it? I doubt it, because if they had, they would know the other choices are MUCH better.

You should have had a "Best True Crime Website" catagory.
